Wild Carrot – Daucus Carota
Wild carrot has a flat umbrella-like, off-white flower, which blooms from June to September . The structure of the flower gives a bird nest type appearance which remains all winter. It can usually be found in dry well-draining soils, such as in rough land and on the roadside. It is very attractive to a great range of bees, hoverflies and other insects.
This plant grows easily from seed in the autumn as it requires a period of cold to break dormancy.
