These beans are of the greatest value when they are overwintered. Field beans can be cut once before they flower and then allowed to re-grow in order to produce a second flush of foliage.
A cool-season hardy annual, these beans can tolerate mild frost but will not withstand temperatures below -9 degrees centigrade.
