Grow Runner Bean Scarlet Emperor

Scarlet Emperor was first made available in 1906, Quick and easy from seed these beans produce a massive harvest of tasty runners through into the autumn.

Sow the seed indoors from mid April ready to plant out after the last frost. The seed can been sown in situ from May onwards. Generally allow 22cm between canes and 60cm between rows using canes to support the plants as they grow. To get a good harvest keep the plants well watered and feed on a regular basis. If you sow in situ plant some extra seed to fill gaps.
