Vibrant and exotic wild sweet pea Intensely coloured wild species from North Africa Vigorous climber that grows well in the UK Sow indoors for surest results, 1.5cm (1/2″) deep, in a tray of compost. Water well and place in a cold frame, greenhouse or cool windowsill. Keep moist. Seedlings ususally appear in 14-28 days. Transplant individually when large enough to handle to 8cm (3″) pots. (A;ways hold seedlings by a leaf, never the stem.) Gradually accustom young plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before planting out 30cm (1′) apart, when frosts are over. Support with tall canes, netting or trellis. A good choice for cottage gardens where it can scramble through established shrubs or over walls and fences. Pods and seeds are not edible
