Barbarea Vulgaris – Winter Cress

This is a winter green biennial or short-lived perennial that features small yellow flowers on a ribbed, hairless stem. It grows to a height of around 30-60cm.

Best sown in the autumn. The seed exhibits hard coat dormancy and a period of chilling can help to break this. Germination can also be speeded up with a light scarification. Flowering occurs form April through to July.
